Made a little Natterjack Toad as part of my British Endangered Animals series. 🐸
I can only say that if these toads are as hard to breed as they are to paint, then their decline makes a lot of sense. LOLS.
I joke, but it is very sad. Habitat loss has led to isolated and fragmented populations meaning they struggle to find other toads to date. They’re now protected and lots is being done to help them thrive. If you live by a coast, you could be their pal. They’re the loudest toads we have (am I right, ladies?) and something as simple as monitoring their sexy yells makes a huge impact.
Also have a pond. It won’t do much for these dune divers but it helps literally everything else, so.
